Private apartment in Lugano

A cozy retreat overlooking the lake

2024

The housing unit is part of the new residential development “4 Elements”, located in the Lugano district. Despite being near the city center, the complex is shielded from traffic and boasts an open view of the lake, wisely preserving and adapting to the lay of the land. The house’s southwest exposure maximizes daylight, flowing in through the full-height windows. The wide glass surface enhances the interior space, bringing the outer landscape into focus. The house spans two floors, covering nearly 150 square meters, and is surrounded by a private garden on both levels. The ground floor, designed as the heart of the home, features an open-plan layout with the entrance and service rooms strategically placed in the back, allowing for a spacious living area and a fully equipped kitchen. The first floor offers a more intimate ambience thoughtfully divided to optimize space, featuring a primary bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, an additional bedroom with its own bathroom, a study room, and a hallway with a walk-through closet. On the left side of the end of the stairs, a glazed landing, leading to the rear garden, allows natural light to illuminate the entrance on the lower floor. The furnishings and finishes are distinguished by light and neutral colors, while the kitchen and closets are defined by contrastingly darker tones. On both floors, raw materials, such as wood, steel, stone and linen fabric, are revisited in a contemporary key, blended to shape tailor-made interiors that offer all the comforts of modern living.
